Got my grubby hands on the new GMC Canyon and the Chevy Colorado.
Forgive the potato cam shots, it's all I got.
The GMC was a fully loaded V6, leather, heated seats, really nice. The space inside is great. I was just in a Tacoma the other day and I'd say the interior dimensions were pretty close.
We can't drive them because they're pre-production trucks. But they are running and driving trucks.
Once I get some wheel time in one and if it lives up to the hype I'll be likely swapping out about half of my fleet of 1500's with these.

Mid-sized truck with full size cups. 'Merica.

The only thing that disappoints (I know this is silly) is that it has a console shifter. I would rather have a bench with no console. I'm not a fan of consoles.

That Lime Rock Green though.

The Colorado looks much, much better than the Canyon.

Those are top notch mugs.

I know what you're saying. It looks/feels like the Trailblazer has returned. Really it's not that noticeable to me, but I do daily an FZJ80 with a big console shifter anyway...

That truck. I want it.
I wish they offered a lighter blue paint color option like the one my '92 S-10 came in but that's okay.

I do hope the Trailblazer returns though.

I blame my crappy photo skills and the added benefit of the exterior light that makes the Chevy better looking.
The GMC looks fucking great. Seriously great. This one is also a gorgeous dark green that the interior lighting and my crappy phone do no justice to.

Nice...where's the diesel?

It's not here yet but they sure we're talking it up for the 2016 model. WITH A MANUAL!
The GM guys all seem very excited about it.

I just don't care for the "big truck luxury" styling on the Canyon. The Colorado on the otherhand looks exactly as it should. Like a fun, aggressive smaller truck.

It's an honestly nice rig. Everything feels solid on it and this is a preproduction model. I'll get some wheel time in a couple months at a special show later on.

I like them both. I've always leaned more GMC in the looks department, though, over their Chevy companions. If the price is right, I could see one in the driveway in a couple of years. If it ends up being price competitive with full size models (think Tacoma/Tundra) the smaller truck is a hard sell, for me.

Anyone else want to remove that black plastic from under the front bumper. Assuming there's no major structure behind it, that thing is really limiting the angle of attack.

They look almost as big as the old full size trucks. My dad wants to replace his truck with one of these eventually. I really hope he does because damn that's a nice looking truck!
Plus they're being built in St. Louis, so it'd be cool to have a car built where you live.

Did you get in the backseat perchance? If so, what was the legroom like?

Here's the most important question for me, what is the length of the bed for a crew cab? I would like to get into a smaller truck, but the only one with a long enough bed for my use in a crew cab body style was the last generation Nissan Frontier which was underpowered and horrible to look at to boot.

I did. I set the seat to my height in front and jumped in back. I'm 5'9", so I might not be the best example but in back on the crew it was really good. Better than I expected.

That's about the same as me, so it's much appreciated! Definitely keeping this on my list for when we need a new people mover 'round these parts.
